El Morfi Grill is an Argentinian restaurant in downtown Glendale along Brand Blvd. Their address is 241 N. Brand Blvd, Glendale, CA 91203.
Their menu includes grilled meat products (Parillada Argentina) and pasta. Southern South America including Argentina was settled by emigres from both Italy and Spain. The result is that pizza and pasta are a significant part on the menu of El Morfi. Argentina’s cattle industry adds to the mix for a unique combination grilled entree’ called Parillada Argentina.
We have been going to El Morfi for a few years now. For this review I had the Costeletas de Cerdo which is grilled pork chops (2 pieces). The pork chop is well seasoned, properly grilled and not dry or tough but the slices are thin compared to the usual pork chop. It came with a yellow rice and a salad. The salad is typical, nothing unusual.
For appetizer, we had the Chorizo Argentinian style. It is made up with ground meat, well seasoned and grilled. It is garnished with pesto and a slice of grilled red pepper. The chorizo is very good, well seasoned with spices and also juicy.
There’s a sauce unique to Argentina called Chimichurri. It is made from finely chopped parsley, minced garlic, olive oil, vinegar, and red pepper flakes. El Morfi used chimichurri as a sauce for the bread instead of butter.
For their menu, they have sandwiches in which the meat is grilled or the veggies are grilledd, salads, pastas which are typical pasta from spaghetti, ravioli, lasagna, pizza, fetuccini and the usual Italian pasta dishes. From the grill they have Skirtsteak, T-Bone Loin Steak, Chicken Breast and Pork Chops.
We usually don’t get their deserts, by the time you are done with the salad, chorizo and main entree you are full.
For grilled meat , El Morfi is above average but their pasta is just average. Service is a little bit slow; if you are planning to see a movie or other plans after dining, you need to plan ahead.
