Crab Catcher

Set high on a cliff overlooking the spectacular Pacific Ocean in La Jolla, Crab Catcher offers an unforgettable dining experience. Being on the beach, La Jolla in San Diego County is one of the most expensive locations in America.

The specialty is fresh seafood infused with the exciting flavors of California.

The view alone should get five stars and the best seats are outside on the patio.  If you want the perfect place to the see the beautiful view of the La Jolla beach while dining, this is definitely the place.  Like most of the La Jolla Restaurants by the cliff the view is amazing.

We went there on a Sunday for the Sunday Champagne Bruch.. The place is crowded but we were seated immediately.

I had the ABC omelet which came with complimentary champagne and croissant. The omelet has avocado, bacon and cheddar. The sides include crispy red potato and sautéed vegetables: baby carrots and green beans. While the omelet is not only good but also visually appealing, the vegetables are overcooked and limp. The vegetables look like they were cooked the day before. The omelet is really good, it is well seasoned salt and black pepper is not necessary.

The service is impeccable; the wait person is very helpful and knows the menu very well and cheerful as well.

They are located at 1298 Prospect Street, La Jolla, CA 92037 and their website is www.carbcatcher.com

    Overall, very good date restaurant.

  2. Went to Crab Catcher with 2 of my friends and we ordered 2 entree as the portions are really big and it’s a good thing they allow to split meals for additional fee. It filled us up.

The main reason we came here to dine is the ambiance though the food is a bit over priced, it’s a good thing the ambiance is really good. Next time, we will have dinner here during sunset that would be amazing.

  3. Went to CrabCatcher when I visited San Diego, went there mainly to watch the sunset while having an early dinner, the food is not bad, service is great. This is a very good date restaurant if you have some budget.

  4. The view alone is worth coming here, the view is the reason why Crab Catcher is very popular. I would recommend this place for the drinks and the view. It is really beautiful. I love their fish tacos.

Servers are very friendly and also efficient.

  5. Although the service is good where the servers are really very friendly, the food is a letdown. For an upscale restaurant their food should be first rate. The food at Barona Casino buffet is I think better, just saying my opinion.
