The Pizza Studio is a small pizzeria chain in the Los Angeles region. Their concept is to create your own pizza every time you order. You don’t actually make your own pizza but you choose what kind of pizza you want from a variety of crusts, meat, and vegetables. They let you customize your individual pizza exactly the way you want it.
They have several locations and I tried their Buena Park location. This location is relatively new; they opened a few weeks ago. The décor is modern with original paintings hanging on the wall; the paintings are done by local artists and are for sale. The place is not the typical Italian/pizzeria.
The crew is very nice; most of the crew at the counter is very helpful and attentive.
To gauge how good is their pizza I ordered the Margherita which is made with traditional thin crust, tomato sauce, grated mozzarella cheese, slices of Roma tomatoes, basil, and garlic oil. Just as you would order a baguette to judge a bakery, Margheritta is the pizza to order to judge a pizzeria. It is the original pizza Napolitana and has the elements you want to look for in a pizza: the sauce, cheese and crust. The margheritta pizza I had at The Pizza Studio is relatively good; the only negative comment is the pizza is soggy maybe because of the sauce.
I went back a second time and ordered the Pepperoni which is made with traditional thin crust, tomato sauce, nitrate-free pepperoni and grated mozzarella. Like the Margheritta, the Pepperoni is also good.
The pizza is good and better than your pizza delivered from Pizza Hut or Papa John’s. It taste homemade; the crust is not chewy, sauce is just enough, tomato slices taste fresh and blended very well. Most important at all, it is not greasy.
Will definitely go back to try their other pizza.
